Republican Charles Dix will replace Democrat Andy Kegley as the Black Lick supervisor. Kegley chose not to seek re-election, and Dix defeated Democrat candidate Harry Joe Yates by a 972-508 margin.
But Democrat challenger Carlton Rose ousted Republican incumbent Alan Dunford, 686-639, from the Lead Mines District, evening the political score.
The only other supervisor seeking re-election was Republican Tom DuPuis, currently board chairman, who had no opposition in the East Wytheville District.
