OBIT-BURGE, PAUL
BURGE, Paul, 83, of Route 1, Bland, died Sunday morning, November 7, 1993,
in the Princeton Community Hospital, Princeton, W.Va. He was retired from the
Virginia Department of Highways and was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie
Bales Burge, one brother, one sister, five half brothers and one half sister.
He is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ronald W. and Jane Burge
of Princeton, W.Va., James R. Burge of Bland, Va.; three sisters, Ruth
Rockhill of Roanoke, Va., Ruby Beard of Salem, Va., Lillian Copley of
Bluefield, Va.; one foster brother, Minor Stowers of Bland, Va., and a special
friend, Mable Tickle of Bland, Va. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November
9, 1993, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Grubb Funeral Home, conducted by the
Rev. Joe Mack Taylor. Interment will follow in the Red Oak Cemetery. The
family will receive friends at the Grubb Funeral Home Monday evening, from 6
to 9 p.m., or at his residence at anytime. The Grubb Funeral Home is in charge
of the arrangements.
