ROANOKE COLLEGE PICKS 3 TRUSTEES

Three Roanoke-area business executives have been elected to Roanoke College's board of trustees.

Ben Jenkins, president and chief operating officer of First Union Corp. of Virginia; Roy R. Pollard Jr., president of Save-X USA Inc. and a Roanoke College alumnus; and Thomas Robertson, president and chief executive officer of Carilion Health System, filled board seats vacated by retiring trustees.

Donald W. Graham of Troy, Mich., joined the board as an ex-officio trustee, representing the college's Parents Council. Kenneth Laughon was named an ex-officio trustee representing the Alumni Executive Council. Laughon, a Roanoke College alum, is president and chief executive officer of Carter Machinery Co. Inc. in Salem. The board of trustees has 33 active members.
