OBIT ARNDT, FREDERICK HERMAN

ARNDT, Frederick Herman, ("Dutch"), M/SGT, Ret., 86, of Lexington, died Tuesday, November 9, 1993, at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Lexington. Mr. Arndt was born in Minnesota on February 1, 1907, a son of the late Frederick Arndt and Gertrude Gergens Arndt. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Lexington, and was retired from the U.S. Army, serving 32 years, with 18 of those years at the Virginia Military Institute, Lexington. Mr. Arndt is survived by his wife, Ruth Ayers Arndt, Lexington; son, Rev. Frederick A. Arndt, New Hope; two brothers, Leroy Arndt and Alvin Arndt, both of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Elsie Arndt, St. Louis, Mo., three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 11, 1993, at 2 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Kenneth Patrick officiating with burial to follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens, Lexington. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Memorial Fund of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Lexington. Arrangements by the Harrison Funeral Home.
