SENATE CANDIDATE TO VISIT BLACKSBURG

Sylvia Clute, who recently announced she's a Democratic Party candidate for the U.S. Senate, will be in Blacksburg Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, Clute will be the guest at a 5 p.m. reception. She'll then visit the YMCA Crafts Fair on the Virginia Tech campus at 7 p.m.

Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m., Clute will present a talk, "Growing up in a Religious Battleground" to the adult Sunday school class at Blacksburg Baptist Church. She'll attend worship services there later.

Following a 1 p.m. coffee and dessert at the Greek's restaurant, Clute plans to meet with students at the Black Cultural Center in Squires Student Center at Virginia Tech at 2:30 p.m. For more information, call Morton Nadler, 961-0804.
