OBIT ASHWELL, EVELYN CHRISTINE BROWN

ASHWELL, Evelyn Christine Brown , passed away November 9, 1993. She was born March 25, 1914 in Hardy, Va. Mrs. Ashwell was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Johnny Ashwell. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Anne and William R. Turner, of Hollywood, Md.; one grandson, Lieutenant William R. Turner II USNR of Corpus Christi, Texas; stepmother, Sallie Brown of Vinton; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Joseph Brown of Vinton, John and Thelma Brown of Roanoke, four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Alzie and Bobby Kesler of Hardy, Della St. Clair of Vinton, Betty and Vernon Gregory of Roanoke, Joyce Higgs of Roanoke; her sister-in-law, Beatrice Brown of Roanoke (widow of Russell B. Brown), a brother that preceded Mrs. Ashwell in death, and two nephews, Benny and Bobby Brown of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 12, 1993, at 11 a.m. from the Nineveh Church in Hardy, with the Rev. Berkley Stephens and the Rev. Tim Dooley officiating. The family has designated the Hardy Rescue Squad for Memorial contributions. Friends may call at Lotz Vinton Chapel.
