RAY KASS' ART WORKS GO ON DISPLAY

"Images of the Winged Earth," an exhibition of paintings by Rak Kass, will open today in the first-floor galleries of the Art Museum of Western Virginia.

Kass, an art professor at Virginia Tech, is known for his interpretations of cityscapes and landscapes. The exhibition will follow the evolution of his painting - from realistic views of of mountains and waterfalls through his latest, more abtract, work.

In conjunction with the opening, art critic Donald Kuspit will speak on Krass and his work. The lecture will begin at 5 p.m. today in the museum's second-floor lecture hall. A reception for Krass will follow the talk.
