OBIT HANCOCK, ELDON
HANCOCK, Eldon, 83, of Portsmouth, Ohio, died Friday,November 12, 1993 at
the Mercy Campus of the Southern Ohio Medical Center. A native of Scioto
County, he was born August 18, 1910 to the late Charles Henry and Harriet
Flowers Hancock. He was a Staff Sergeant with the Army during World War II,
and was a retired salesman for Creasy Grocery Company in Kenova, W. Va. He was
a member of the United Commercial Travelers and the James Dickey Post #23 of
the American Legion. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Fox Hancock, whom he
married June 30, 1946, from Rockbridge County, Va.; two sisters, Garnet Miller
of Minford, and Fay Amicon of Chillicothe; a half brother, Harold Hancock of
Minneapolis, Mn. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Burns. Graveside
services will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 1993, in the Fairfield
Cemetery, with Rev. Phillip C. Kestner officiating. Arrangements by Harrison
