TECH STUDENT FOUND DEAD, STRUCK BY TRAIN

A Virginia Tech student was killed when a train struck him on a Norfolk Southern track near Eggleston Saturday night.

Sean M. Galant, 28, of 510 Hampton Court in Blacksburg, parked his car on Virginia 625 and began walking on the tracks, state police said. Galant's body was found six miles from his car by the crew of a passing train Sunday morning, police said.

Police said they were unsure of the exact time of death because four trains passed through that area after 11 p.m. Saturday, and it was only when the fifth train passed in daylight that his body was discovered.
