Sgt. Mike Fisher said the cars either had their tires slashed or windows broken or were sprayed with yellow paint.
"Somebody is going to owe a lot of money when they get caught," Fisher said. "You've got some cars that had all four tires slashed."
Police said the vandalism took place between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. throughout Salem, but the Karen Hills section was especially hard hit. They said they were following a few leads, but Monday had not identified a suspect.
