OBIT TURNER, HARRY H.

TURNER, Harry H., 83, of Diamond Ave. Extension, Rocky Mount, died Sunday, November 14, 1993, at home. He was born April 18, 1910, in Ferrum. He was a resident of Franklin County all his life. He was a retired employee of DeShazo Lumber. He was a member of Rockfield Primitive Baptist Church, Ferrum. He was predeceased by his parents, Sam Henry Turner and Lucy Saunders Turner. He is survived by four daughters, Jean Leavelle, Margaret (Peggy) Muse, both of Rocky Mount, Vanessa Wimbush, Carolyn Chism, both of Ferrum; two sons, Ray O. Turner, Larry D. Turner, both of Rocky Mount; two sisters, Mary Young, Martinsville, Bertha Staples, Fieldale. The remains will be placed in the church at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the church, and at the home of Alvin and Jean Leavelle, Diamond Avenue, Rocky Mount, at other times. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m., First Baptist Church, Patterson Ave., Rocky Mount, with interment in Franklin Memorial Park, Rocky Mount. The Rev. Samuel Anderson will officiate. Hairston Funeral Home, Martinsville, is in charge of the arrangements.
