OBIT DIGGORY, CARLANNE H.
DIGGORY, Carlanne H., 67, of Pittsburgh, Penn., died Friday, November 12,
1993, at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born in Roanoke on February 24,
1926 to Carl and Anne Shute Hansen, she attended Roanoke High School and the
Richmond Art Institute. From 1963 to 1965 she worked for the Pennsylvania
Department of Education, then went to work for The Pennsylvania Higher
Education Assistance Agency until 1978. She was a member of the Harrisburg Art
Association and had been a case worker for the American Red Cross. She also
did portrait painting in the Hershey area. She preceded her first husband, the
late Daniel J. Cronin in death and is survived by her husband, James C.
Diggory; one son, Daniel B. Cronin of Owings Mills, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Ronald
(Nancy) Howe of Manteca, Calif.; her granddaughter, Nicole Cronin of Valley
Cottage, N.Y.; an aunt, Miss Jane Shute of Roanoke. A memorial service will be
announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the
Children's Defense Fund, 25 E Street NW, Washington, DC 20001. Arrangements by
