R. Frazier Inc., a Salem company that recycles discarded computers and telecommunications equipment, said Tuesday it has opened an office in the People's Republic of China. The office, part of an international push the company announced in July, is in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. It is expected to employ 20 people in the next year, said Chairman Randy Frazier.
Frazier earlier this year started an operation in Scotland and has said it also expected to branch to Costa Rica.
The Chinese are the world's largest consumers of electronic scrap, which Frazier supplies, the company said. It expects its market there to grow by as much as $5 million over the next two years.
