BASSETT ROLLS TO EASY WIN IN BASKETBALL

Bassett bolted to a 14-0 lead and turned back Brookville 73-58 in the Region III girls' basketball tournament Tuesday.

The Bengals (24-0) made 21 of 29 field-goal attempts in the first half and led 49-28 at the break. Aimee Barker had 14 of her 17 points in the first half.

Brookville (13-11) got 18 points from Jackie Gay and 15 from Kristie Fisher.

Bassett plays Lord Botetourt (23-1) at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. \
