ODU MAY START HOCKEY PROGRAM

The owner of the Hampton Roads Admirals East Coast Hockey League franchise believes that Old Dominion University may put a team on the ice in the near future.

"It would be a tremendous boost to the ODU athletic program," Blake Cullen said Monday in remarks to the Norfolk Sports Club. "Ice hockey at the college level is a popular attraction, a money-maker."

ODU has a club hockey team that plays club teams representing North Carolina, Liberty, George Mason, Virginia Tech, Duke and North Carolina State.
