Wallace and his team owner, Charlotte businessman Felix Sabates, have agreed to end their association after one season.
Wallace, 30, younger brother of Rusty Wallace, couldn't be reached and Sabates was noncommittal about 1994 plans.
Apparently, the loss of the sponsor played a part in the departure of Kenny Wallace, who had best finishes of ninth in two races during his Winston Cup rookie season. Wallace's successor likely will be journeyman driver Bobby Hamilton, who can bring along a sponsor. However, Sabates also apparently plans to interview Dick Trickle.
Kenny Wallace becomes the 24th driver facing a different situation next season.
Hmiel, a key player in the emergence of driver Mark Martin's team, decided Wednesday against taking a top-level position at Hendrick Motorsports.
Hmiel had been hired to head a research-and-development program for the teams fielding Chevrolets for Ken Schrader, Terry Labonte and 1993 rookie of the year Jeff Gordon.
Brewer, 38, credited with preparing cars that have won 53 races, resigned his crew chief position with the team that fielded Fords for rookie Bobby Labonte.
Brewer, a chassis specialist, couldn't be reached. But Ricky Rudd confirmed he is negotiating with Brewer to become crew chief of the new Ford team.
Also, Larry Hedrick Motorsports appears set to sign 1992 Grand National champion Joe Nemechek to a three-year deal. The team also is close to negotiating a sponsorship deal with Meineke.
