Shops and stores throughout the town will display their wares during the day to encourage in-town Christmas season shopping this year.
Another attraction will be an all-day craft show at the former Jefferson School building in the downtown area.
Seventeen local crafters will offer a variety of goods from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free. The event is sponsored by the Pulaski Office on Youth, with the $10 rental paid by each vendor going toward youth programs.
Demonstrations during the craft show will include Linda Payne displaying oriental rugs, Cliff Jones with woodcraft and Robert Stewart giving a jazz performance.
The holiday parade is earlier than usual this year so that a larger number of high school bands can take part. Later parades in previous years have run into trouble lining up bands to participate, because of impending school holidays and other factors.
Cash prizes will go to noncommercial adult and children's floats, and plaques will go to the top-judged commercial floats.
The Jaycees mailed invitations to churches, civic and other nonprofit organizations in the area seeking their participation. There also will be beauty queens, antique vehicles and, of course, Santa Claus.
The parade will celebrate both Thanksgiving and Christmas.
