TOWN WINS RECYCLING AWARD

The Town of Blacksburg has won the Virginia Recycling Association's 1993 Comprehensive Community Program award, the highest recycling program award in Virginia.

The association recognized Blacksburg as a recycling leader and for having the most comprehensive recycling program in the state during 1993.

Blacksburg is the only community to offer curbside collection of seven recyclable items.

The town picks up mixed paper, aluminum, glass, plastic, newsprint, steel cans and chippable brush on a weekly basis.
