Cynthia Marie Stephenson and Dr. J. Andrew Bowman were united in marriage
on Saturday, November 20, 1993, in a traditional candlelight and roses
ceremony at Hollins Road Church of the Brethren in Roanoke, Va. The Reverend
Jeff A. Alphin, of High Point, N.C., and friend of the groom, performed the
ceremony. The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Holiday Inn -
Airport. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil J. Stephenson. The
groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Bowman. The bride's maid of honor was
her sister, Miss Heather C. Stephenson. The other bridesmaids were Miss Susan
J. Lindsay, of Lexington, Va., Mrs. Bonita M. Ingram, of Floyd, Va., and Miss
Staci L. Gilley, of Salem, Va., all friends of the bride, and Miss Lisa D.
Gowen, of Lynchburg, Va., cousin of the bride. The junior bridesmaid was Miss
Lori Marie Huffman, and the flower girl was Miss Carly Lynn Huffman, both
friends of the bride. The groom's father served as best man for his son. The
other attendants were Mr. Daniel G. Bowman, brother of the groom, Mr. David
Dantzler, of Beckley, W.Va., Mr. Wesley T. Ingram, of Floyd, Va., and Dr.
William H. Wood, of Louisburg, N.C., all friends of the groom. The ring bearer
was Mr. Matthew McKimmy, friend of the bride. The guestbook was attended by
Mr. and Mrs. John Fletcher, of Sterling, Va., and the gift table was hosted by
Miss Susan L. Hoback, all cousins of the groom. The soloists in the ceremony
were Miss June Marie Martin, of Lynchburg, Va., aunt of the bride, Miss Susan
L. Hoback, and Mr. Larry E. Huffman, friend of the bride. The organist was
Mrs. Patricia S. Bailey, friend of the bride. Cindy is a 1989 graduate of
Patrick Henry High School and attended Virginia Tech for four years. She is
currently employed by Haley Toyota, Inc. Andy graduated from Cave Spring High
School in 1987 and from Campbell University School of Pharmacy in Buies Creek,
N.C., in May, 1993. He is employed by The Kroger Company. The bride and groom
wish to extend a special thank you to Barry Brooks Photography, Holiday Inn -
Airport, Sa I Do Bridal Shop, Stritesky's Flower Shop, Mrs. Susan McKimmy,
Mrs. Emma Poff, and all of the friends and family that helped to make their
wedding day as special as it could have possibly been. After a honeymoon trip
to Nags Head, N.C., the couple will reside in Roanoke.
