Kimberly Faye McDaniel and James Douglas Collins, Jr. were married November
20, 1993. Rev. Jim Burks performed the ceremony. The matron of honor was Kathy
Hamblin, sister of the groom. Bridesmaids were Judy Chitwood, Pam Furrow,
Tracy Graham, and Connie Echols, friends of the bride. Flowergirl was Kristen
Hamblin, niece of the groom. The best man was James Collins, Sr., father of
the groom. Ushers were Chris Woods, friend of the groom, Neil Collins, brother
of the groom, Junior Hamblin, brother-in-law of the groom, and Ricky McDaniel,
brother of the bride. The candlelighters were Ricky McDaniel and Neil Collins.
The guestbook was attended by Charlotte McDaniel. The bride's gown was made of
white satin accented with schiffli lace with a jewel neckline. The keyhole
bodice was accented with pearl dangles and had long tapered sleeves with satin
pleats at the shoulders. It had a double bow at the back waist. It had a full
floor length skirt and an extended chapel length train featuring schiffli lace
appliques and border lace. She carried a bouquet of pink roses, white
carnations, baby's breath and pearls. The bride is a daughter of David and
Faye McDaniel, of Elliston. She is employed by Village Market of Alleghany.
The bridegroom is a son of James and Reda Collins, of Salem. He is employed by
Damon Co. of Salem. After a wedding trip to the Smoky Mountains, the newlyweds
will live in Elliston.
