OBIT SPANGLER, HURBERT WORTH
SPANGLER, Hurbert Worth, 92, of Rt. 1, Hardy, passed away Friday, November
19, 1993. He is predeceased by his wife, Lela Janney Spangler and was a
retired blacksmith with the N & W Railroad after 44 years service. Survivors
include three sons, Ernest W. Spangler, James R. Spangler, David M. Spangler,
all of Hardy; two daughters, Viola S. Phlegar, Salem, Ayrie S. Glover,
Roanoke; four sisters, Martha S. Wilson, Mady S. Stines, both of Roanoke,
Margie S. Janney, Salem, Ernestine Stroud, Roanoke; six grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be noon Monday, November 22, 1993,
at the Lotz Vinton Chapel. The Rev. Walter Lee Wood will officiate. Burial
will follow in Oylers Chapel Cemetery, Hardy. Friends may call at the Lotz
Vinton Chapel after 2 p.m. Saturday.
