OBIT SIMPSON, DONNA DODD

SIMPSON, Donna Dodd, of 145 Updike Place, Danville, and formerly of Chatham, Va., died Saturday morning, November 20, 1993, at her residence. She was born on August 4, 1947, in Danville, Va., a daughter of Ira Bryant Dodd and Margaret Shelton Dodd of Danville. Mrs. Simpson was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, and a former member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Chatham, Va., where she had been active in the Altar Guild, the Bible Study and the Episcopal Church Women. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, William C. Simpson and her son, R. Scott Simpson, both of the home; a sister, Judith D. Fitts of South Boston; four nieces and one nephew. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday from the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Chatham, by the Rev. James Mathieson, the Rev. James Bullock and Dr. John Ruef. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Chatham. Townes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and the family will be at the residence, 145 Updike Place in Danville.
