OBIT UNDERWOOD, LOUISE CREEDLE
UNDERWOOD, Louise Creedle, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, November 20,
1993 at her residence. She was the widow of Earl M. Underwood Jr., an active
member of Oakland Baptist Church, a graduate of Averett College (Class of
1938), and attended Mary Washington College. Mrs. Underwood was an Avon
Representative for over 35 years and was a frequent visitor to shut-ins in
nursing homes and residences. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, J. Kent
and Irene Spangler Underwood, St. Louis, Mo., a daughter, Carol Underwood
Digesare, Jacksonville, Fla.; three grandchildren, Scott Preston Underwood,
Jeffrey Kent Underwood, John-Michael Digesare; two sisters, Ethel Creedle
Jeffress, Culpeper, Va., Elva Creedle Puryear, Clarksville, Va. Funeral
services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday from Oakland Baptist Church with
Rev. Kelly H. Dampeer and Dr. Harry Y. Gamble officiating. Interment will
follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests
memorial contributions be made to the Oakland Baptist Church Building Fund
(3623 Roundhill Ave. N.W., Roanoke, Va. 24012). Friends may call after 9 a.m.
Tuesday at Oakey's North Chapel, where the family will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to
9 p.m. Tuesday.
