OBIT CHITTUM, JOSEPH EDWARD

CHITTUM, Joseph Edward, 88, of Boones Mill, died Friday, November 19, 1993. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Karnes Chittum and a son, Daniel Dawn Chittum. Mr. Chittum is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Avis and Troy Lovell of Roanoke and Mary (Jones) and Allen Rautio of Stuart; three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Estelle Chittum of Woodbridge, Joseph and Mildred Chittum of Stafford and Odell and Lois Chittum of Vinton; one daughter-in-law, Flora Ann Chittum of Vinton; three sisters, Geneva Howell, Christine Bryant and Mary Quesenberry, all of Vinton; one brother, Howard Chittum of Vinton; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 22, 1993, at 2 p.m. at the Lotz Vinton Chapel with the Revs. Wilson Jamison and Donald Abshire officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 to 9 at Lotz Vinton Chapel.
