OBIT RAMSEY, VANCE

RAMSEY, Vance, 80, of Bland, died Sunday, November 21, 1993, in Bluefield Regional Hospital, Bluefield, W.Va. He was born October 7, 1913 in Bland, the son of the late Thomas Randolph and Caroline Kyle Finley Ramsey. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and was a member of the Shady Grove United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ina Wright Ramsey; one son, Phillip Ramsey of Bland; two daughters, Mrs. Dewey (Barbara) Williams and Mrs. Hubert (Pam) Stowers, both of Bland; ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with the Rev. Arnold Clark and the Rev. Jerry Long officiating. Burial will be in the Ramsey Family Cemetery, Bland. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Monday from 6 to 9 p.m.
