Generally, a prefix of "857-2" replaces the "982-6" or "982-4" prefixes.
In most cases, the last three digits of the telephone numbers remain the same.
For example, the U.S. Attorney's Office number, which was 982-6250, has become 857-2250.
If other changes have been made in the telephone number, a recording will direct the caller to the correct number. - RON BROWN
