100 YEARS OLD
Grace Miller was 100 on Nov. 17, and her family and friends held a
reception at Friendship Manor in her honor. She was married to the late Bill
Humbert and the late A.D. Miller. Born on a farm in Somerset County in
Pennsylvania, Miller taught Latin at the former Daleville College and English
at Woodrow Wilson Junior High School. She's been an active member of Central
Church of the Brethren, where she sang in the choir and taught the Altrusa
Sunday School class, and considered the members her "children." She also was a
member of the Blue Ridge Forum and the Fortnightly Club and served as
president of the Thursday Morning Music Club from 1949 until 1951.
