LETTER WRITING FOR THE ARTS

The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge will hold a letter-writing open house Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its office at 20 East Church Avenue in Roanoke.

The aim is to let members of the Virginia General Assembly know that citizens support the arts and humanities. The council will supply names, addresses, sample letters and stationery.

Virhginia ranks 47th in the United States in state financial support for the Arts, says Susan Jennings, the council's executive director.
