FARM BUREAU TO HEAR ALLEN

Gov.-elect George Allen will address the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation at its annual convention Wednesday at the Roanoke Airport Marriott hotel.

He will make his remarks at the awards banquet shortly after 7 p.m. to about 550 Farm Bureau leaders as well as agricultural dignitaries from Virginia Tech, the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service, Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and other farm groups.

Allen is a member of the Albemarle County Farm Bureau. He is expected to share his views on funding for agricultural agencies, land-use taxation, private-property rights and other farm-related issues.
