GLENVAR RUNNER IN TOP 10

Salem's Patricia Nervo finished 10th out of 230 participants in the South Regional of the Footlocker Cross Country Championships Saturday in Charlotte, N.C.

Nervo, a student at Glenvar High School, ran the 3.1-mile race for high school track athletes in 18 minutes and 56 seconds.

The top eight finishers qualified for the nationals in San Diego. Nervo is the second alternate.

Jackie Kerr from Reston won in a time of 18:14.2.
