OBIT KING, KENNETH EDWIN
KING, Kenneth Edwin, 79, of Salem, passed away Saturday, November 27, 1993,
at his home. He was a charter member of the Williamson Road Church of the
Brethren, where he taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir. He
retired from Hunt-Wesson Foods in 1961 and retired from H & C Coffee in 1979.
After retirement, he worked part-time for Quality Coffee until his illness. He
spent many years in the food business. He was predeceased by one brother, Alva
King and one sister, Thelma King Guthrie. He is survived by his wife, Mrs.
Josephine Perdue King; three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Rosemary
King, Salem, Richard and Mary Ann King, Roanoke, Stephen and Gail King,
Roanoke; five grandchildren, Rick, Stephanie, Stephan, Sean and Dustin; two
brothers, Harold King and Charlie King; one sister, Melva King Guthrie.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Williamson Road Church of the
Brethren at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, with Pastor Harold S. Moyer and the
Rev. J. Michael Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Park.
Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel, where the family will receive friends 2
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
