OBIT MADINE, JAMES JOHN

MADINE, James John, 60, of Fincastle, died Friday, November 26, 1993. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Margaret Madine and Denise Hutton Madine. Mr. Madine was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Fincastle, a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany with the 86th Infantry and a third generation scientific and artistic glassblower, having worked at the National Institute of Health and Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., and private industry. He owned Madine's Glass Studio in Fincastle. Survivors include his wife, Helen Caulfield Madine; daughter and son-in-law, Schaumann and E. Bruce Wilsie; grandson, Ross Caulfield Wilsie; granddaughter, Julia Hutton Wilsie, all of Roanoke; sisters, Hilda Madine, Kensington, Md., Christine Lawhorne, Gaithersburg, Md.; brother, Richard William Madine, Lawton, Okla.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 29, 1993, at 11 a.m. in St. Mark's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Harmon Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Godwin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fincastle Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, Troutville.
