The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Carl E. McGraw, of Radford. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Merritt Burns, of Charlotte, North Carolina.
A program of wedding music was performed by organist Sandra Smith, with special features by Rodney Overstreet on french horn. Bruce Burns and Michael McGraw, playing flute and keyboards, performed Tim Weisburg's "Windseason". Beth Green sang "Ave Maria" and "The Lord's Prayer".
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory chantilly lace embellished with flower appliques, iridescent sequins and seed pearls. The fitted bodice, which was styled with a wedding band collar and Gibson sleeves, featured seed pearls and bugle beads. The bouffant skirt flowed into a chapel train. The ivory veil featured a foreband of seed pearls, iridescent sequins and ribbon lace. A pouf of illusion held lace flowers and pearl appliques over triple tier veiling. Her bouquet was a cascade of white Casablanca lilies, cream roses, stephanotis, Star of Bethlehem, with ivy and pearl accents.
The matron of honor was Jessica Johnson, of Hampton, Virginia, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Julie Easter, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, friend of the bride, Mary Ann Radford, of Radford, friend of the bride, Michelle McGraw, of Radford, niece of the bride, and Hannah Green, of Radford, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids wore silk brocade dresses in jewel tones. Rachel Johnson, daughter of the matron of honor, Jessica Johnson, was the flower girl. She wore an ivory silk brocade dress and carried a basket of pink rose petals.
David Burns, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Michael McGraw, of Radford, brother of the bride, Brad McGraw, of Roanoke, brother of the bride, Don Maiorana, of Chesapeake, friend of the groom, andJonathan McGraw, of Roanoke, nephew of the bride.
The bride's mother wore a dress of black silk lace reimbroidered with gold beads and sequins. The groom's mother wore a creamy rose Shantung suit. They each wore a rose corsage with a small spring ribbon.
Terri is a 1983 graduate of Virginia Tech. She is currently employed by Carilion Health Enterprises, and she also owns a small business.
Bruce is from Virginia Beach. He attended East Carolina University and Berklee College. He has performed as saxophonist and vocalist with Bill Deal and Ammon Tharp, as well as a variety of regional bands such as Fat Ammon's Band, the Rhondells, and the Catalinas. Since moving to the Roanoke Valley area, he is performing with local musicians and working as a computer programmer.
The groom's parents entertained the wedding party and guests with a dinner at the Marriott the previous night. Music was performed by Mike Correll, a jazz pianist.
The wedding reception was given by the bride's parents and was held at the Norwood Room. Musical entertainment was provided by the Flip Shoemaker Trio and former members of the Fat Ammon's Band who were in attendance.
After a honeymoon the couple will reside in Blacksburg.
