OBIT--HICKS, MARVIN EVERT

HICKS, Marvin Evert, 55, of Salem, died Monday, November 29, 1993. He is survived by his wife, Mazie Slone Hicks; sons, Marvin Hicks Jr., Daniel Hicks; daughters, Janet Stewart, Patricia Edwards, Margie High, Robin Patterson, Rebecca Riddle; 11 grandchildren; mother, Annie Hicks; brothers, Charlie Hicks, Robert Hicks, Wilfred Hicks, Jerry Hicks, Rufus Hicks; sisters, Nina Wallace, Essie Morris, Jean Jordan, Joyce Yopp, Gracie Wright, Barbara Campbell. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Monta Vista Church, Callaway, with Rev. J. Willard Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem.
