OBIT SMITH, MAE M.
SMITH, Mae M. 96, of Rocky Mount, died Monday, November 29, 1993. She was
preceded in death by her husband, P. W. Smith; a son, Harold R. Smith, Naples,
Fla.; two other children, having died in childhood and one grandson. She is
survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret S. and Guy W. Buford,
Rocky Mount, Virginia and James M. Moore, North Bend, Ore.; a daughter-in-law,
Peggy Ralston Smith, Naples, Fla.; nine grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; two brothers, B. Lamar Mullins, Decatur, Ga., and Charles
E. Mullins, Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Louise Burnett, Thomaston, Ga.,
Eunice Graham, Augusta, Ga.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs.
Smith was a longtime resident of Atlanta, Ga., where she was retired from the
Board of Women's Work of the Presbyterian Church, U.S. Funeral services will
be held in the chapel of Central Presbyterian Church, Atlanta, Ga. Saturday,
December 4, 1993, at 10:30 a.m. with private burial in Crestlawn Memorial
Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the
Franklin County 4-H Center, Roanoke Area Ministries, Central Presbyterian
Church, Atlanta, Ga. or to a favorite charity. The family will receive friends
from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 1993, at Flora Funeral Service, 342 S.
Main St., Rocky Mount.
