OBIT DEHART, LLOYD VIRGIL
DEHART, Lloyd Virgil, 62, of McCoy, died Tuesday, November 30, 1993 at his
home after a long battle with cancer. Lloyd was born at McCoy on May 25, 1931
to the late Rufus Bayard and Ila Stella McCoy DeHart and was also preceded in
death by a brother, Tyler "Tuck" Dehart. He worked as a supervisor for the
McCall Coal Company at the Big Vein Coal Mines at McCoy for 15 years, and was
a machinist with Federal Mogul, Inc. with 18 years service. He was a member of
Centennial Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, June Amburgey DeHart; one
daughter and son-in-law, Mary June D. and John Nickle, of McCoy; one son and
daughter-in-law, Steven Lloyd and Margaret Roddy Dehart; three grandchildren,
Roderick Blaise Dehart, Clark Gabriel DeHart and Helen Frances DeHart, all of
Price's Fork; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Viola D. and Truman E. Wilson,
of Christiansburg, Alice D. Kirk, of Tampa, Fla.; one brother and
sister-in-law, Maynard Carl and Jonell Johnston DeHart, of Blacksburg; one
sister-in-law, Margaret Shortridge DeHart, of Christiansburg; three nieces,
and one nephew. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 3, 2 p.m.
at Centennial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with the Rev. Gordon Lee
officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will
receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
