UNDERWOOD SPARKS RADFORD

Narrows' Patrick Baily scored 28 points, including five 3-pointers, but Radford got 21 from Casey Underwood and won its opener 64-59 in the Pizza Inn Tip-Off boys' basketball tournament Friday night at Christiansburg High School.

Underwood broke a 62-62 tie when he completed a three-point play with 15 seconds left.

C.C. Chapman had 11 and Ricky Erickson had 10 for the Bobcats.

CHRISTIANSBURG - The Blue Demons cruised to a season-opening victory over the Shawnees in the Pizza Inn Tip-Off Tournament at Christiansburg High School.

John Hairston had 19 points, Ryan Hubble 15 and Donald Thompson 10 for Christiansburg.

Darrell Bibb poured in 25 for Shawsville.

HILLSVILLE - Matt Larrowe scored 20 points and had several offensive rebounds in a 25-11 second period as the Cavaliers beat the Maroon Tide in a non-district opener for both teams.

Galax led 13-12 after one quarter, but the Cavaliers stormed back with a huge second period to take a 13-point lead.
