The 80-member band will play a variety of holiday numbers including ``Sleigh Ride,'' ``A Canadian Brass Christmas,'' ``An Irving Berlin Christmas,'' ``Chesnuts Roasting on an Open Fire,'' ``White Christmas,'' and a community carol sing with audience participation.
Other music will include the Rimsky-Korsakov ``Procession of Nobles'' and Karl King's ``Barnum and Bailey's Favorite.''
Now in its fifth year, the band is supported by the community college's Educational Foundation, its Cultural Affairs Committee and public donations.
White was director of bands and director of music at Elon (N.C.) College before his retirement and move back to Wytheville, where he had previously been George Wythe High's band director.
He is now an adjunct professor of music at Wytheville Community College.
The band has performed concerts throughout the region and has several spring 1994 performances planned.
Prospective new members from among adults in the region are invited to join the band for the coming spring season by attending its first spring rehearsal at 7 p.m. Jan. 18 in the George Wythe High School Band Room.
The band rehearses each Tuesday evening.
