OBIT ALSOP, LEORA H.
ALSOP, Leora H., 80, of Washington, D.C., formerly of Radford, died
Thursday, December 2, 1993, after a long illness. She was born July 25, 1913,
the daughter of the late Charlie Wade and Fannie Price Carter. She was a
member of the First Baptist Church, West Street in Radford; and was a veteran
having served in the U.S. Army. She is survived by one brother and
sister-in-law, Clifton (Ditney), and Priscilla Carter; four sisters and two
brothers-in-law, Lucille Procter of Hempstead, N.Y., Christine and James
(Pete) Morton of Radford, Thelma and John Cobbs, New River, Va., Leila Anthony
of Philadelphia, Pa.; nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral will be Monday, December 6, 1993, 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, West
Street, Radford, with the Rev. Weldon officiating. Burial at Sunrise Burial
Park in Fairlawn, Va. Family will receive friends from noon until time of
service. Penn's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, Pulaski, Va.
