DOWER, Lila Bache Norwood, 92, of Lynchburg, died Friday, December 3, 1993,
in Camelot Hall Nursing Home, Lynchburg. She was the wife of the late Richard
Stanley Dower of Radford. Her first husband was the late Thomas Pierce Norwood
of Savannah, Ga. Born in Richmond, May 8, 1901, she was a daughter of the late
William Kendall and Lila Hardin Bache. She was a member of Rivermont
Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a son, Thomas P. Norwood Jr of
Lynchburg; five grandchildren, Susan P. Norwood of Annapolis, Md., Betty N.
Smiley, Thomas R. Norwood, both of Lynchburg, Anna K. Norwood of Richmond, and
Janey M. Williams of Roanoke; four great-grandchildren. A graveside service
will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday, in Sunrise Burial Park, Radford, with
Dr. L. Wayne Meredith officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2
p.m. Monday, at Seavers-Sanders Funeral Home, Radford. The family suggests
that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, or Rivermont
Presbyterian Church. Diuguid Rivermont Chapel is in charge of local
arrangements.
