SPORTS CLUB TO HONOR PYNE

The Blacksburg Sports Club will sponsor a luncheon honoring Jim Pyne, Virginia Tech's consensus All-America center, at noon Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the Bowman Stadium Club in Tech's Cassell Coliseum.

Pyne, a senior business management major from Milford, Mass., has received first-team All-America honors from Kodak Coaches, Walter Camp and the Football Writers Association. He also won the Bill Dudley Award, recognizing him as the top collegiate football player in Virginia.

The luncheon also will feature Tech football coach Frank Beamer, who will provide a scouting report for the Hokies' upcoming Poulan Weedeater Independence Bowl game with Indiana on Dec. 31 in Shreveport, La.

Luncheon tickets are $6.50 per person. Reservations can be made by calling 953-2163. - Staff report
