OBIT LEE, WALTER HENRY
LEE, Walter Henry, 83, of 3038 Melrose Ave. N.W., Roanoke, and formerly of
Troutville, died Tuesday, December 7, 1993, in the VA Hospital. Mr. Lee was a
graduate of Vinton High School and served as a Corporal in the 6th Armored
Division, United States Army during World War II. He was a former employee of
Loebl Cleaners and Dye Works. Mr. Lee was a volunteer at the Veterans
Administration Hospital in Salem, and had accumulated over 5000 hours of
volunteer service there. He was a charter member of Our Lady of Nazareth
Catholic Church. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Mildred L. Sayre, Roanoke;
friends, Jon Barton and Brooke Stephens. Graveside services will be held
Friday, December 10, 11 a.m. at Evergreen Burial Park with the Rev. Lawrence
Mullaney officiating. Walter will be greatly missed by many friends at Our
Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church, at Melrose Towers Apartments, and at the VA
Hospital. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel after 1 p.m. Thursday.
