\ The Rev. Elliott Hipp, pastor, said classes in nutrition will be offered to those who receive government assistance in the Women's, Infants' and Children's program. The church also will provide a place for immunizations of children and supervision of them while parents are receiving counseling or other help.
Hipp said adults of any faith interested in volunteering for child care may call him at 342-3652 or 344-9451. The Belmont program represents an expansion of one formerly carried on at the nearby Presbyterian Community Center.
\ WAVERLY PLACE BAPTIST CHURCH, 1407 Kenwood Blvd. S.E., has scheduled its annual Christmas music Sunday at 6 p.m. Its theme is "Celebrate His Presence." During a reception after the program, the Rev. Charles Hoffler, pastor, will be honored for five years of service.
\ SONGS OF THE HOLY NIGHT, a concert for Christmas, will be presented Sunday at 7 p.m. by the Roanoke Stake Choir of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The free program will be at the stake center, 6311 Wayburn Drive, Salem.
\ CHRISTMAS WITH SQUIRE PARSONS, a holiday program featuring the gospel singer who has performed throughout the nation, is scheduled Sunday at 10 a.m. at Lakeside Baptist Church, 447 Dalewood Ave., Salem. Parsons will sing both Christmas and gospel music. He is a song writer as well as baritone soloist.
\ WOMEN'S AGLOW, an organization for women of charismatic Christian preference, will hear Kimberley Schneider at its meeting Wednesday at the Quality Inn. Schneider has traveled nationally, telling of her story of Christian conversion from prostitution.
\ CORRELL MISSIONARY MINISTRIES, an evangelical Christian agency based in Roanoke, has elected Michael Correll president and named Helen Correll, the former president, president emeritus. Michael Correll and his wife, Karen, are affiliated with Cornerstone Church in the Hollins area.
The ministry maintains missions in several European, Latin American and Asian countries.
