MARTINSVILLE OVERCOMES FRANKLIN CO.

Franklin County let a 14-point lead slip away in the second half, and Martinsville beat the Eagles 80-74 in high school boys' basketball Wednesday.

Martinsville (2-1) was led by Michael Martin with 33 points, and Marte Venable added 13.

The Eagles had 15 points from Chad Foutz, K.C. Hancock and Carlos Holland. Foutz led Franklin County's outside shooting with three 3-point goals as the Eagles connected on seven treys.

FISHERSVILLE - Patrick Lennon scored 26 points as the Chargers routed the Green Hornets for a non-district win.

Lennon scored 12 points in the first quarter and Bath County forced numerous turnovers in the second quarter to take a 34-15 halftime lead. The Chargers (1-0) never looked back as they cruised to the win.\ BATH COUNTY (81)
