OBIT HELVEY, HENRY G. JR.

HELVEY, Henry G. Jr., ("Hank"), 73, of Salem, died Wednesday, December 8, 1993, at his home. He was former owner of Horton & Snyder Food Brokerage Company. Surviving are his wife, Josephine Hendrick Helvey; sons, Granger Helvey and wife, Carey, Fairfax, Donald Helvey and wife, Mary, Michael Helvey and wife, Brandi, all of Atlanta, Ga.; brothers, John Helvey, Arlington, Wayne Helvey, Wytheville; sisters, Sally H. Parsons, Brandon, Fla., Lucille H. Livengood, North Carolina, Dorothy Helvey, Wytheville, Madeline H. Strohm, Vienna, Barbara H. Garst, Herndon; grandson, Henry Granger Helvey IV. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Friday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel by Dr. Bernard S. Via Jr. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton.
