OBIT KING, EDNA P. GORDON

KING, Edna P. Gordon, 79, of Dublin, formerly of Ada, W.Va., died Thursday, December 9, 1993, at Radford Community Hospital. She was born April 13, 1914, in West Virginia to the late Emory P. Pennington and Delia Perdue. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter B. Gordon and her son, Joe Daniel Gordon. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Carl Jones of Fairlawn; a son, Kyle T. Gordon of Christiansburg; four sons and daughters-in-law, Richard R. and Imogene Gordon of Radford, Preston and Barbara Gordon of Radford, the Rev. Russell and Judy Gordon of Brazil, South America, Terrell and Janice Gordon of Christiansburg; two sisters, Pauline Rose of Rock, W.Va., Ruth Eidson of Roanoke; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 12, 1993, at 2 p.m. from the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Radford, with Pastor Jerry Gibson, the Rev. Lester Kennedy and the Rev. Dewey Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Gethsemane Baptist Church, 2006 Preston Street, Radford. The family requests that memorials be made to the Russell Gordon Missionary Ministries in Brazil, c/o Gethsemane Baptist Church, Box 3514 F.S.S., Radford, Va. 24143. DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford is in charge of arrangements.
