BLACKSBURG SPORTS CLUB LUNCHEON TO HONOR TECH'S JIM PYNE

The Blacksburg Sports Club is sponsoring a luncheon to honor Virginia Tech unanimous All-American football center Jim Pyne.

The luncheon will be at noon on Wednesday at the Bowman Stadium Club in Cassell Coliseum on the Virginia Tech campus.

Pyne has been named first-team All-American by the five services or publications recognized by the NCAA: Kodak, Football Writers of America, Walter Camp Foundation, United Press International and Associated Press. Pyne, a senior in business management from Milford, Mass., also received the Bill Dudley Award recognizing him as the top college football player in Virginia.

The luncheon also will feature Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer who will provide a scouting report for the Hokies' Poulan Weedeater Independence Bowl game against Indiana on Dec. 31.

The cost for the luncheon is $6.50 per person. Reservations can be made by calling 953-2163.
