OBIT-STINCHCOMB, WAYNE WEBSTER

STINCHCOMB, Wayne Webster, 50, of Blacksburg, died Thursday, December 9, 1993. Mr. Stinchcomb was born in Baltimore, Md., September 16, 1943. He was a professor in the Engineering, Science, and Mechanics Department at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University for 23 years, where he graduated with a B.S. degree in 1965. He later earned his Ph.D. at Penn State in 1971. He was a member and an Elder at Blacksburg Christian Fellowship. He is survived by his wife, Grace H. Stinchcomb; two sons, Adam Stinchcomb and Matt Stinchcomb, all of Blacksburg; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Stinchcomb, Ellicott City, Md.; one brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Eloise Stinchcomb, Randallstown, Md.; one aunt, Hazel Ruehl, Baltimore, Md. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 13, 1993, at 10 a.m., in the Blacksburg Christian Fellowship, with Elder David G. Kingston officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blacksburg Christian Fellowship Building Fund, P.O. Box 813, Blacksburg, Va., 24063. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg, Va.
