The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors will again consider the conservation and development amendment to its 1990 comprehensive plan, once known as the open-space plan.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Monday on the third floor of the Montgomery County Courthouse. The public hearings and regular business begin at 7 p.m.
With vocal opposition from some landowners, and support from the dozens of town and county residents who helped shape the plan over two years, the supervisors tabled the measure last month for more study.
The county Planning Commission recommended approval of the plan in October.
The supervisors spent more than an hour going through the document in detail with the county planning staff at a special work session two weeks ago.
In earlier meetings, at least three of the seven supervisors had expressed concerns about the plan, while two vocally supported it.
The Board of Supervisors also will hold two public hearings: one on the rezoning of 24 acres off Merrimac Road to allow for the combination and renovation of two existing trailer parks; and a second on a change in the county code to clarify when recycling reports are due from certain businesses and industries.
The board is also scheduled to resume consideration of the borrowing needed to pay for three projects: an addition to the Blacksburg library branch; a new health and human services building in Christiansburg; and the Falling Branch Industrial Park along Interstate 81.
