OBIT-STATON, HARRY MCBRIDE

STATON, Harry McBride, 91, of the Richfield Retirement Community in Salem, died Sunday, December 12, 1993. He was preceded in death by a son, Ivan M. Staton, and was a member of the Salem Presbyterian Church. Mr. Staton was a retired cabinet maker. Surviving are his devoted wife of 68 years, Mrs. Frances Hayden Staton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald E. and Lena M. Staton, Fort Branch, Ind.; Robert W. and Edna M. Staton, Salem; a daughter-in-law, Marjorie T. Staton, Lady Lake, Fla.; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Marjorie Staton, Vinton; two sisters, Miss Audrey Staton and Miss Beulah Staton, both of Roanoke; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Claudine Staton, Roanoke. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Vinton Chapel 11 a.m. Wednesday with Dr. Leighton Culler and the Rev. Tom Clay officiating. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel or friends and relatives may call at the home of Robbie Staton.
